What click actions are available in Mindstamp?

Every click action you can give a Mindstamp button, hotspot, image or text: open links, jump, branch, show messages, download files, and more.

Short answer

A click action is what happens when a viewer clicks a button, hotspot, image or text interaction. You choose it in the Click Action list when you edit the interaction. There are more than 20, including Open Link, Change Time, Switch Video, Show Message and Download File.

How to do it

  1. Select Interactions and open the button, hotspot, image or text you want to change.
  2. Under Content, open the Click Action list. Type to filter it.
  3. Choose an action and fill in its value, such as a link, a time, a video or a message.
  4. Save the interaction and test the click from the share link in a private browser window.

Set the Click Action to Open Link and paste your channel link with ?sub_confirmation=1 at the end.

Move the viewer

  • Continue: records the click and keeps the video playing. New buttons, images and text start with this action.
  • Open Link: opens a web page and pauses the video. Links open in a new tab unless you turn off Open links in new tab in the video’s Settings.
  • Open Link Modal: opens a web page in a window on top of the video, so the viewer does not leave. Some websites do not allow this. Use Open Link for those.
  • Change Time: jumps to another time in the same video.
  • Switch Video: branches to another video, with an optional start time.
  • Switch to Previous Video: returns to the video the viewer came from.

Show more information

  • Show Message: shows a message. The video pauses until the viewer closes it.
  • Show Article: opens an article from your assets.
  • Show Image: opens an image, such as a diagram or map.
  • Show Card: opens an info, media or product card. It is available on buttons, hotspots, images and text.
  • Play Video Clip and Play Audio Clip: pause the video and play a short clip.

Contact, input and commerce

  • Start Email: opens the viewer’s email app with your address filled in.
  • Start Call: calls your number on a phone. On a desktop, it shows the number.
  • Collect Feedback: shows your prompt and a box for a short response.
  • Copy Text: copies text you choose, such as a discount code, to the viewer’s clipboard.
  • Add to Cart: adds a product to the in-video cart. It needs the Shopify integration.
  • Download File: downloads a file you choose. It is on Pro and higher plans.

AI and menus

  • Open Genie AI: opens Genie, which answers viewer questions from the video. Genie is on Core and higher plans.
  • Ask ChatGPT: opens a ChatGPT window inside the player.
  • Open Magic Menu: opens the video’s Magic Menu of links and resources.

None

None shows the interaction but makes it not clickable. Use it for a label or picture that should not do anything. Require Click is not available with None.

Actions in other places

Question answers have their own action list. The End Screen has its own options for the end of the video. To run an action at a set time with no click, use a navigation. To ask for a name or email before any action runs, turn on Capture Lead in the interaction’s Settings.
