What do the post-click states Hidden and Disabled do?

Short answer

The Post Click State setting controls what an interaction does after a viewer clicks it. Hidden removes it from the screen. Disabled leaves it on screen but it no longer responds to clicks. Change Colors gives it new colors, and No Change leaves it as it is.

How to do it

1. Select Interactions and open the interaction.
2. Open Settings and choose an option in Post Click State.
3. For Change Colors, pick the new Text and Background colors.
4. Save, then click the interaction in Preview to see the result.

Which one to use

• No Change: the default. Use it for buttons viewers may click more than once, such as “Open the guide”.
• Hidden: use it when the item is done, such as “Start the lesson”, or to clear a hotspot the viewer already found.
• Disabled: use it to show a choice was made but keep it on screen, such as the chosen answer in a menu.
• Change Colors: use it as a checklist, so viewers see which items they have opened. It is not available for images.

How long the state lasts

The state stays for the rest of the viewer’s session in that video, also when the viewer seeks back or a Change Time action returns to an earlier point. A Reset Interactions navigation clears the viewer’s clicks, so hidden and disabled items come back.

Use it with Require Click

When several items all require a click, a post-click state shows viewers what is left. For example, give five hotspots Change Colors, and viewers see which ones they still need to click before the video continues. See require a click.

Change several at once

To set the same post-click state on many interactions, open one row’s menu in the interaction list, choose Bulk Edit, select the others, and change Post Click State for all of them.
