Mindstamp help guide
How do I personalize video text with viewer information?
Capture a viewer name or other value, save it as a variable, and reuse it in later Mindstamp interactions.
Short answer
Collect the value with Lead Capture or a question, save it to a variable, and insert that variable into later interaction text using the current Mindstamp variable syntax. Lead Capture provides standard name, email, phone, and custom ID values, and custom questions can supply other variables.
How to do it
- Choose the value to capture and create a short, privacy-appropriate prompt.
- Configure Lead Capture or a Question interaction to save the response to a stable variable name.
- Insert the variable into later text, messages, questions, or interactions.
- Provide sensible fallback copy for viewers who skip the field or arrive without a value.
- Test populated, blank, long, special-character, and returning-viewer cases.

Capture only what you will use
A name can make a greeting feel relevant; unnecessary personal fields create friction and privacy obligations. Explain why required information is needed.
Variables can come from several places
The Help Center also documents setting variables from clicks, URL or embed parameters, and automatic navigations. Use one controlled value source when possible to prevent conflicts.
