How do I keep a button visible for the whole video?
Make a Mindstamp button show from the first to the last second of a video with the Start and End time controls, and keep it out of the way.
Short answer
Open the button and go to Timing. Hover the Show field and click Start, then hover the Hide field and click End. Save. The button now shows from the first frame to the last. Place it in a corner so it does not cover captions or important content.
How to do it
- Select Interactions and open the button, or add a new one.
- Under Timing, hover the Show field and click Start (Set to start).
- Hover the Hide field and click End (Set to end of video).
- Set Pause to None, so the button never stops the video.
- Drag the button to a corner, away from the player controls and captions, and save.
- To keep it clickable after the video ends, set End Screen to None: Pause on Last Frame.
- Watch the start, a few scene changes and the end in Preview, on a phone and on a desktop.
Keep it out of the way
A button that is always on screen should be small and quiet. Use short text, a corner position, and colors that fit the video. If the phone layout is crowded, make a smaller copy and set Visibility to Mobile Only on it and Desktop Only on the original.
Make sure it stays after a click
Keep Post Click State at No Change. Hidden removes the button after the first click, and Disabled stops later clicks.
After the video ends
Most End Screen options cover the video or move the viewer. None: Pause on Last Frame holds the last frame, so the button stays visible and clickable. See pause on the last frame.
Another option: the Magic Menu
If you want several links available the whole time, use the Magic Menu. It is a menu of links and resources that viewers can open at any point, and it is on every plan.
