What is the maximum video length and file size?
Videos can be up to 8 hours long. Basic limits each video to 30 minutes. See the upload file size limit for each plan and what to do if a file is too big.
Short answer
A video can be up to 8 hours long. On the Basic plan, each video can be up to 30 minutes; Core and higher plans have no plan length limit. The largest file you can upload is 2 GB during the free trial, 5 GB on Basic, 10 GB on Core, and has no limit on Pro and higher plans.
How to do it
- Select New video, then Upload.
- Read the note under the upload box. It shows the accepted formats and your maximum file size, for example "up to 5 GB" or "no file size limit".
- If your file is too large, compress it (see below) or move to a plan with a higher limit.
- If your video is longer than your plan allows, shorten it in a video editor or move to Core or higher.
Length by plan
- Basic: up to 30 minutes for each video.
- Core, Pro, Scale and Ultra: no plan length limit.
- All plans: uploads can be up to 8 hours long.
Upload file size by plan
The file size limit applies to files you upload. A video you link from Vimeo, Wistia or your own storage is not uploaded to Mindstamp.
- Free trial: 2 GB for each file.
- Basic: 5 GB for each file.
- Core: 10 GB for each file.
- Pro, Scale, Ultra and Enterprise: no file size limit.
Accepted formats
The upload box accepts video files such as MP4, MOV and WebM. The Link source accepts a direct MP4 or HLS (.m3u8) address. For the smallest file with good quality, export an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. See how to compress a video.
