Videos are a great way to engage your audience and really bring your brand/service/products to life.
However, a challenge that many video marketers face is having a video produced, but then needing additional audio and video down the line to provide content or updates to their viewers. Instead of recreating your entire video, Mindstamp’s interactive video platform offers you the opportunity to record audio and video clips directly on the site to upload to your video.
With that being said, there are certain settings and technology that you must have available in order to do so.
To add media to your Mindstamp video, you’ll need:
An accessible webcam and/or microphone: This can be attached directly to your laptop or computer, or be a detachable device.
A Browser that supports media recording: We recommend using Chrome or Firefox on macOS for the best recording. Safari browser, however, does not support media recording, meaning you cannot record on iOS devices.
How to record audio and video on your next Mindstamp video:
Audio
Audio quality, in many ways, is more important than the video quality, since it adds emotion and connects people to what they are watching.
Here’s how to record and add high quality voice clips to your existing videos using Mindstamp:
Upload or link your existing video to Mindstamp’s interactive video platform.
Navigate to ‘Add Media’ on the features bar and select ‘Audio Clip.’
Next, you’ll decide how you want to select your video clip. You can choose an existing clip or record a voice clip. To record a voice clip, click ‘Record Voice Clip’ and select ‘Start Recording’ when you’re ready to begin recording your audio.
If in Chrome, be sure to grant the browser permission to use your microphone by selecting ‘Allow’ in the pop-up.
Record your audio and click ‘Stop Recording’ once you’re finished.
If you’re satisfied with your recording, add a title to your audio clip (optional) and click ‘Save’. Your audio clip will then be automatically added to your video. If you aren’t satisfied with your audio recording, you can select ‘Discard’ and re-record your audio.
You can then decide where within your video you would like to add your voice clip. (Keep in mind that the video will pause while your audio clip is playing.) Click the edit button next to the video clip you just added and select the new time you’d like your voice clip to start playing.
Video
Having high quality videos are essential for improving your brand image, keeping your audience engaged, and further explaining a point.

Determine at what time during the video you’d like your video clip to play and update the ‘Show Time’— In this case, we’ll add the video clip at 15 seconds in.
Next, you’ll decide how you want to select your video clip. You have the option to choose from your Mindstamp library of already uploaded video clips, upload a new video, or record a new video.
If you don’t have a preexisting video, you’ll want to select ‘Record New Video’.
Click ‘Continue’ and be sure to grant the browser permission to use your camera by selecting ‘Allow’ in the pop-up.
When you’re ready, click ‘Start Recording’ and click ‘Stop Recording’ once you are finished.
If you’re satisfied with your recording after watching the preview, click ‘Continue’. However, if you aren’t satisfied with your recording, you can select ‘Discard’ and re-record your video.
The video will then upload to your preexisting Mindstamp video and you can add a ‘Clip Title’ and position/resize the video to your liking— Be sure to hit ‘Save’ when you’re finished.
