How do I add a Mindstamp video to iSpring Suite or iSpring Learn?

Updated · 2 min read

Short answer

Save the course in PowerPoint, select Web Object on the iSpring Suite toolbar, choose Embed code, and paste the Mindstamp Basic iframe code. For the video score in iSpring Learn, upload the Mindstamp SCORM package there as its own course.

  1. In Mindstamp, publish the video from its Share page if it is not published yet.
  2. Under Embed, choose Basic iframe and select Copy embed code.
  3. Open the course in PowerPoint and save it. iSpring asks you to save before you add a web object.
  4. On the iSpring Suite toolbar, select Web Object, then Embed code, and paste the code. To use the address instead, choose Web address and paste the address inside src.
  5. Choose Display in slide, then move and resize the rectangle. Or choose Display in a new browser window and set a window size or full screen. An icon then shows on the slide.
  6. To show the player after a delay, set Show after. The default is 0 seconds.
  7. Publish the course and play the slide in a browser.

Embed the video on an iSpring Learn page

  • In the page, select Media on the toolbar, then Embed.
  • Paste the Basic iframe code or the player address, and press Enter.
  • Align the player left, center, or right, and add a caption if you want one.

Upload the SCORM package to iSpring Learn

Copy link to Upload the SCORM package to iSpring Learn
  • On the Mindstamp Share page, under Export, select Download SCORM package. This needs a Core plan or higher. Choose SCORM 1.2 and a Completion Checkpoint of 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent.
  • iSpring Learn lists SCORM 1.2 and 2004 uploads without naming the 2004 edition. Test one 2004 package before you use it widely.
  • In iSpring Learn, open Learning Content and a project, then select Upload. You can also drag the ZIP file in. A course can be up to 3 GB.
  • Assign the package with the Suite course, and run both as a test learner.

What iSpring does not document

iSpring’s web object pages do not cover https, sites that block framing, or the mobile app. Use the address from the Mindstamp code, which starts with https, and check the published course on a phone.

If your account restricts embed domains

If you set Allowed embed domains in Mindstamp, add your iSpring Learn domain and any other LMS domain to the list. Otherwise learners see “Video not available: Code 617”. See restrict embed domains.

Know which learner watched

The embed does not receive the learner’s iSpring Learn account. To see names in Mindstamp reports, add lead capture to the video so learners enter their name and email. A SCORM package passes the name and ID from the LMS instead. See viewer identity and anonymous viewers.
