How do I add a Mindstamp video to an Easygenerator course?

Updated · 2 min read

Short answer

Copy the Mindstamp Basic iframe code. On the Easygenerator content page, drag an HTML block from the Embed tab into the layout and paste the code. Easygenerator disables JavaScript in the HTML block, so the scripts in the Responsive and Popout codes do not run.

  1. In Mindstamp, publish the video from its Share page if it is not published yet.
  2. Under Embed, choose Basic iframe and select Copy embed code.
  3. In Easygenerator, open the content page or block where the video goes.
  4. Select the Embed tab in the left menu.
  5. Drag an HTML block into the layout.
  6. Paste the code into the HTML block.
  7. Change the iframe width and height to fit the page.
  8. Preview the page as a learner.
  9. Publish the course.

If the HTML block is empty

  • Check that you pasted the Basic iframe code, which has no script. Easygenerator disables JavaScript in the HTML block, so the Responsive and Popout scripts do not run.
  • Check that the src address starts with https://embed.mindstamp.com, or with your custom domain.
  • Easygenerator says some sites block iframes, and links that need a login show an error. Embed only content that is open to everyone or to anyone with the link.

Add the SCORM package to your LMS

  • On the Mindstamp Share page, under Export, select Download SCORM package. This needs a Core plan or higher.
  • Choose a version your LMS lists and a Completion Checkpoint of 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent.
  • Add the ZIP file to your LMS as a second course. The Easygenerator course does not receive the video score.
  • Run both courses as a test learner.
  • Check that the LMS shows the video score.

Easygenerator can also publish a course as a link or a QR code. If you limit embed domains in Mindstamp, add the domain in that course link as well as your LMS domain.

If your account restricts embed domains

If you set Allowed embed domains in Mindstamp, add your LMS domain to the list. Otherwise learners see “Video not available: Code 617”. See restrict embed domains.

Know which learner watched

The embed does not receive the learner’s LMS account. To see names in Mindstamp reports, add lead capture to the video so learners enter their name and email. A SCORM package passes the name and ID from the LMS instead. See viewer identity and anonymous viewers.
