How do I embed a Mindstamp video in Brightspace?
Short answer
Ask a Brightspace admin to add https://embed.mindstamp.com/* to Trusted Sites. Then copy the Mindstamp Basic iframe code, open a Brightspace editor, select Insert Stuff, then Enter Embed Code, paste the code, and select Next and Insert.
How to do it
Copy link to How to do it- In Mindstamp, publish the video from its Share page if it is not published yet.
- Under Embed, choose Basic iframe and select Copy embed code.
- In the course, open Content, select Create New, then Page. Any other Brightspace editor also works.
- In the editor, select Insert Stuff, then Enter Embed Code.
- Paste the code, select Next, then Insert.
- Save, then open the page as a test student. Play the video and try fullscreen.
Add Mindstamp to Trusted Sites
Copy link to Add Mindstamp to Trusted SitesA Brightspace admin opens Admin Tools, then Trusted Sites, and adds https://embed.mindstamp.com/* to the list. The forward slash and asterisk allow all content from the site. If your videos use a custom domain, add it the same way. Until the entry exists, each student sees a prompt that the media is from another website and has been blocked, and must allow it. A D2L community thread notes that the prompt can be cut off in a small window.
Paste in the HTML source view instead

Add a SCORM object for a grade
Copy link to Add a SCORM object for a grade- The new SCORM tool needs Content Service turned on for your organization. Without it, Brightspace uses legacy SCORM.
- On the Mindstamp Share page, under Export, select Download SCORM package. This needs a Core plan or higher. Choose SCORM 1.2 or a SCORM 2004 edition and a Completion Checkpoint of 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent.
- D2L says Brightspace is SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 compliant and does not name an edition. Upload one package first.
- In Content, select New SCORM/xAPI Object and upload the ZIP file. One upload can hold up to 50 objects.
- Connect the object to a grade item so the score enters the grade book.
If your account restricts embed domains
Copy link to If your account restricts embed domainsIf you set Allowed embed domains in Mindstamp, add your Brightspace domain to the list. Otherwise students see “Video not available: Code 617”. See restrict embed domains.
Know which student watched
Copy link to Know which student watchedThe embed does not receive the student’s Brightspace account. To see names in Mindstamp reports, add lead capture to the video so students enter their name and email. A SCORM package passes the name and ID from the LMS instead.
