Can I give a client access to reports for only some videos?
Put a client’s videos in a group and invite the client as an Analyst. They see reports for that group only, with no subscription or admin seat needed.
Short answer
Yes. Put the client’s videos in a group, then invite the client to that group with the Analyst role. The client makes a free Mindstamp login from the invite and sees only that group and its reports. They do not need their own subscription, and a group-only member does not use an admin seat. Groups are on Core and higher plans.
How to do it
- In the left menu, open Groups and create a group for the client.
- Add the videos the client should see to the group.
- Open the group and go to the People tab.
- Select Invite, enter the client’s email and choose the Analyst role.
- Send the invite. The client follows the email link and creates a login.
- Test it: sign in as a test Analyst and check that you see only the client’s group and its Reporting tab.
Group roles
- Viewer: can open the group and watch its videos. No reports.
- Analyst: can also open the reports for the videos in the group.
- Admin: can also manage the group, including its videos, people and settings.
What the client sees
A person who joins only through a group invite is a group-only member. After sign-in, the menu shows only Groups, with the groups they belong to and the videos in those groups. An Analyst opens the group and uses its Reporting tab, which is filtered to the group. A member with the Viewer role sees the videos but no reports.
Reports for the group count views of the videos in the group. If you move a video out of the group, the client no longer sees it.
Seats and plans
Group-only members do not use admin seats. Admin seats are for the people who build and edit videos in your account. If you add an existing team member to a group, they keep their seat as before.
Groups start on Core. The number of groups and playlists by plan is: Core 5, Pro 15, Scale 15, Ultra 15. See pricing for current limits.
Other ways to share results
If the client does not need a login, send them an export. On Pro and higher plans, a recurring export filtered to their videos can email them a file every day, week or month.
