How do I organize videos in folders?

Create folders and subfolders in Mindstamp, add videos to them, filter the library by folder, and learn what happens when you delete a folder.

Updated

Short answer

Open Folders in the side menu, select New Folder, and give it a name. Open the folder and select Edit Videos to choose which videos belong in it. You can nest subfolders inside folders.

How to do it

  1. In the side menu, under Organize, select Folders.
  2. Select New Folder, enter a name, and save.
  3. Open the folder. To add a folder inside it, select New Subfolder.
  4. Select Edit Videos, choose the videos for this folder, and save.
  5. Use the breadcrumb, starting at All Folders, to move back up.

Folders keeps your library organized. Search, create a folder, or open one to see its videos.

How folders work

  • Each video sits in one folder at a time. Adding it to a new folder moves it.
  • A folder page lists only the videos directly in it, not the videos in its subfolders.
  • Folders can nest up to ten levels deep.
  • A video card in the library shows its folder name. Select it to open the folder.
  • In the video library, use the folder filter to show one folder's videos.

Rename or delete a folder

Open the actions menu on a folder card and select Rename or Delete. Delete also removes its subfolders. The videos are not deleted; they only lose their folder.

The person who created a folder and the organization owner can rename it, delete it, and change its videos.

Folders, groups, and playlists

  • Folders organize your library. They do not change who can see a video.
  • Groups share selected videos and reports with chosen people.
  • Playlists put videos in order for viewers to watch.
