Does Mindstamp use my data to train AI models?
How Mindstamp's AI features handle your data, which ones are off by default, and how to get a written AI data statement for a security or procurement review.
Short answer
Mindstamp has not published a policy on AI model training in its Privacy Policy. Here is what is certain: AI agent features (Max and Mindstamp MCP) stay off until your account owner turns them on, and other AI features run only when you use them. For a written statement for a security or procurement review, contact us.
AI features that are off until the owner turns them on
Max, the in-app video assistant, and Mindstamp MCP, which connects outside agents such as Claude or ChatGPT, need the organization owner to select Turn on AI features on the AI settings page. While they are off, they do not send your organization's data to an AI model provider. The owner can turn them off again at any time.
AI features you choose to use in a video
These features send the content they need to an AI model provider to produce a result. They run only when you add or use them. The AI settings switch does not control them.
- Genie AI answers viewer questions from the video transcript and the notes you give it.
- AI question generation writes questions from a transcript.
- Transcripts and captions turn speech into text.
- Translation and dubbing translate audio, captions and interaction text.
- AI voices read questions and answers aloud.
What to ask for in a review
- Which AI features your team will use, and which data each one sends.
- Which model providers process that data, and their training and retention terms.
- Whether the answer changes for Enterprise contracts.
