GetApp named Mindstamp a Category Leader in Video Marketing Software in its 2022 report, with a score of 92 out of 100, and named it again in January 2023, when Mindstamp placed fifth of 15 leaders with a score of 91. GetApp scores products on user reviews in five areas (ease of use, value for money, functionality, customer support, and likelihood to recommend), each worth up to 20 points. When we checked on October 5, 2026, Mindstamp held a 4.9 out of 5 rating from 38 reviews on its GetApp profile.
What GetApp's Category Leaders ranking measures
GetApp is a software review and comparison site. Its Category Leaders reports rank the top-rated products in a software category that serve North American users, and its published Category Leaders methodology (version 6, in use since April 2020, checked October 2026) sets out the rules.
To qualify, a product must:
- Have at least 20 unique reviews published on GetApp within the 24 months before research starts.
- Serve North American users and be relevant to buyers across industries, so niche tools are left out.
- Show the category's required features in public sources, such as the vendor's website.
- Reach a minimum normalized rating in each of the five scored areas.
GetApp converts each user rating to a five-point scale, averages the ratings for each area, and adjusts the averages for how recent and how numerous the reviews are. Each area is then scaled to 20 points, for a maximum total of 100. In a true tie, products are listed in alphabetical order. Each report is a snapshot of reviews from a set period and is not updated after it is published.
GetApp states that products are included and scored only on user reviews, and that a vendor's status as a GetApp client is not a factor.
How Mindstamp scored in 2022 and 2023
In the 2022 report, Mindstamp scored 92 out of 100. The chart below is GetApp's score chart for Mindstamp as of March 2022. Each segment is one of the five areas, and the dark line in each segment marks the category average. GetApp's video marketing listing in September 2022 showed the Category Leaders badge on Mindstamp's entry, linked to the video marketing Category Leaders page (see the archived copy from September 25, 2022).
The 2023 report, published in January 2023, ranked 15 Category Leaders from the 68 products in GetApp's video marketing category. Mindstamp placed fifth with 91 points: 19 of 20 for customer support and 18 of 20 for each of the other four areas. At the time, Mindstamp had 26 reviews on GetApp with an average of 4.9 stars. The table comes from GetApp's page as archived on January 28, 2023, because the live address no longer shows the 2023 ranking. We also announced the 2023 result in a press note.
| Place | Product | Score out of 100 | GetApp rating at the time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ThankView | 97 | 4.9 from 172 reviews |
| 2 | Vadoo | 95 | 4.8 from 368 reviews |
| 3 | Adilo | 95 | 4.8 from 650 reviews |
| 4 | Covideo | 92 | 4.9 from 29 reviews |
| 5 | Mindstamp | 91 | 4.9 from 26 reviews |
| 6 | VideoAsk | 89 | 4.7 from 57 reviews |
| 7 | Spott | 88 | 4.8 from 80 reviews |
| 8 | Videolinq | 86 | 4.7 from 82 reviews |
| 9 | Vyond | 85 | 4.7 from 239 reviews |
| 10 | Hippo Video | 84 | 4.5 from 76 reviews |
| 11 | Wistia | 84 | 4.7 from 160 reviews |
| 12 | Vidyard | 83 | 4.5 from 108 reviews |
| 13 | Boosted | 81 | 4.8 from 88 reviews |
| 14 | BombBomb | 78 | 4.5 from 119 reviews |
| 15 | PowToon | 75 | 4.5 from 359 reviews |
The score and the star average can differ. Boosted had a 4.8 average and scored 81, while Covideo had a 4.9 average and scored 92, because GetApp scores each of the five areas separately and adjusts for the number and age of reviews.
When the 2022 report came out, Andrew Brooks and Brett Lindenberg said:
"We couldn't be more excited to be named a leader in the video marketing industry from GetApp, and we know the best is only yet to come!" Andrew Brooks, March 2022.
"We are so honored to be named a Category Favorite! It's something incredible to watch an idea grow, and it's even better to know it's leaving an impact!" Brett Lindenberg, Mindstamp CEO and co-founder, March 2022.
Mindstamp's GetApp rating today
On October 5, 2026, Mindstamp's GetApp profile showed 4.9 out of 5 from 38 reviews: 34 five-star and 4 four-star reviews, with none lower. The area ratings were:
- Ease of use: 4.9 out of 5
- Value for money: 4.9 out of 5
- Customer support: 4.9 out of 5
- Features: 4.6 out of 5
Features is the lowest of the four, so read the four-star reviews if a specific capability matters to you. Our reviews page shows Mindstamp's ratings on Capterra and G2.
How to use GetApp rankings when you choose video marketing software
A Category Leaders badge shows that a product's reviewers were satisfied during the report's review window. To judge whether it fits your own job, use the ranking as a shortlist and work through these points:
- Look at the edition date. A badge reflects reviews published before that report's research began, so a 2023 badge describes the product as reviewers saw it before 2023.
- Count the reviews. GetApp requires 20 to qualify, and a 4.9 from 26 reviews is thinner evidence than a 4.5 from 359.
- Confirm what the product is for. The 2023 video marketing list mixed tools for different jobs. GetApp described ThankView as personalized video outreach to donors, Vyond and PowToon as animated video makers, BombBomb as recorded video messages, Videolinq as live streaming, Spott as shoppable images and video, and Mindstamp as interactive video.
- Filter reviews by company size and role, and read the lowest-rated ones. They show where a tool falls short for teams like yours.
- Test the specific job in a free trial. If you need a lead form inside the video or answers sent to your CRM, build that before you buy.

What Mindstamp does for video marketing
Mindstamp adds interactions to video you already have, without re-encoding it, and reports what each viewer did. Marketing teams use it to:
- Collect names and email addresses inside the player with lead capture, at the start, at a set time, or after a click.
- Add buttons and hotspots that open a page or switch to another video.
- Ask questions that pause the video and record each answer.
- Send viewers down different paths with branching, based on what they choose.
- See views, answers, and clicks for each viewer in the reports, and pass them to HubSpot, Zapier, or a webhook on supported plans.
For ways to put these to work, read our guides to video lead generation, gaining email subscribers with video, and lead generation best practices.
Common questions
Can a vendor pay to become a GetApp Category Leader?
No, according to GetApp's methodology. It says products are scored only on user reviews and that a vendor's status as a client is not a factor. GetApp's 2023 video marketing page also said that some vendors pay GetApp when they receive web traffic from it, and that those payments have no influence on the methodology.
How often does GetApp publish Category Leaders?
GetApp publishes each report as a snapshot and does not update it afterward. The methodology page refers to a research calendar for tentative schedules. Mindstamp was named in the 2022 and 2023 video marketing reports.
Does a 2022 award still mean anything in 2026?
It shows how reviewers rated Mindstamp in the years before that report. For the current picture, read the recent reviews on the GetApp profile and try the product yourself.
Check the reviews, then test the job
Read the recent GetApp reviews, then build the interaction you need on one of your own videos. Mindstamp has a 14-day free trial that needs no payment card, and plans are on the pricing page.
