What teams ask about hotspots
How is a hotspot different from a button?
A hotspot makes an area of the video clickable, such as a product already visible in the shot. A button adds a labeled control. Choose the one that makes the next action clear to viewers.
Can a hotspot follow a moving object?
Yes. Edit the hotspot, open Styling, and select Track motion. Click the object, let the video step forward, and click it again. The hotspot moves in a straight line between your points, or you can choose a smooth curve or a hold that jumps from point to point. Tracking needs at least two points. It is not available for YouTube videos, for a hotspot that pauses the video, or for a hotspot that shows for less than 3 seconds.
How do viewers know where to click?
Use a visible cue or label if the area does not look clickable. Keep it clear of player controls and other hotspots, and check it on a phone before publishing.
