How do I make Vyond videos interactive?
Vyond’s help center says you cannot add learner interactivity inside Vyond, and suggests that you export the MP4 to a third-party tool. To use Mindstamp, download the MP4 on a paid Vyond plan, select New video > Upload in Mindstamp, and add questions, hotspots, and branching in the editor. Each learner’s answers then show in Mindstamp reports.
Which Vyond plan do I need?
Any paid Vyond plan can download 1080p MP4 files, and the free trial cannot. Monthly downloads range from 100 on Starter to virtually unlimited on Enterprise and Agency. Vyond’s own SCORM export is on Enterprise and Agency. On the Mindstamp side, the Basic plan allows videos up to 30 minutes, and SCORM export needs Core or higher.
Does Vyond track views of the video?
No. Vyond says it does not host videos and does not provide embed codes, so it never plays the MP4 you download. Mindstamp hosts the uploaded copy and records each view, answer, and click.
Vyond suggests Storyline, HapYak, or Captivate. Why use Mindstamp?
Those are the tools Vyond’s help center names, and authors often add Vyond video to Articulate courses to put quizzes around it. Mindstamp places the questions, hotspots, and branching on the video itself, gives you a share link and embed code as well as a SCORM package, and reports each learner’s answers. You can still use the result in a course built elsewhere, and the LMS guide shows how.
Do Vyond captions come with the upload?
Mindstamp does not import caption files, so a Vyond SRT or VTT file does not come with the MP4. Mindstamp makes its own transcript of the uploaded video. Open captions in Vyond are part of the picture, so they stay in the MP4. See video transcripts.
Can I put the interactive Vyond video in my LMS?
Yes. On a Mindstamp Core plan or higher, download a SCORM package from the Share page and add it to your course, or embed the player in a lesson page. Vyond’s own SCORM package carries the video alone, while the Mindstamp package carries the questions too. See SCORM export.
