Credible distractors
Wrong options drawn from the same material: near-misses, not throwaways.
Training and L&D
Generate multiple choice questions with plausible distractors, correct answers, and explanations: from any material or topic.
What it does
Anyone can write the correct option. This tool works on the distractors, because that is where question quality lives.
Wrong options drawn from the same material: near-misses, not throwaways.
Three, four, or five choices per question, with exactly one marked correct.
A one-line explanation per question, for the learner and for your review.
How to use it
In depth
A multiple choice question depends on its distractors. Absurd options measure test-taking skill. Options based on common mistakes make the question a better test of understanding.
Common faults include options with visibly different lengths, "all of the above", unconditional claims, and grammatical mismatches between the stem and an option. The generator checks for these faults. The "avoid obvious wrong answers" setting also checks each distractor for plausibility.
Option count is a trade-off, not a tradition. Four options is the default for a reason: three raises the guessing floor to 33%, five usually forces one filler distractor. If your material only supports two strong wrong answers, three good options beat four with a passenger.
Review remains yours. A generated question is a strong draft: check that the correct answer is defensibly correct in your context, and that no distractor is accidentally true in your organization’s edge cases.
Questions
It instructs the model to check each distractor for plausibility: no joke options, giveaways, or "all of the above". Turn it off for deliberately easy warm-up questions.
Four is the standard: a 25% guessing floor and usually three defensible distractors. Use three when the material supports only two strong wrong answers.
Yes. Without pasted material it writes standard-knowledge questions for the topic. With material, every question and distractor is grounded in your text.
