Training and L&D

Free learning objective generator

Turn a training topic into measurable learning objectives, each with its Bloom’s level and a way to assess it.

Free, no account needed. Your content is processed once and not stored.

What it does

Measurable, or it does not count

"Understand safety" is a hope. "Identify the four shutdown conditions" is an objective. This tool writes the second kind.

Observable verbs

Every objective starts with a verb you can watch happen: identify, perform, calculate, demonstrate.

Bloom’s classified

Each objective includes its taxonomy level. You can also select a fixed level.

Assessment attached

Each objective names the check that would verify it, so course design starts aligned.

How to use it

How to write objectives with it

  1. Describe the training or course topic in a sentence.
  2. Set the learner level and, if you want, a fixed Bloom’s level.
  3. Generate, then keep the objectives that match what the training must change.
  4. Feed the keepers into the course outline, script, and assessment generators.

In depth

Objectives are the contract of a course

A learning objective states a behavior that you can observe after training. Course content, activities, and assessment must support that behavior. Vague verbs such as "understand", "appreciate", and "be familiar with" do not give the course or assessment a measurable target.

Replace a vague verb with an observable behavior. For example, "understand ladder safety" can become "state the 4-to-1 angle rule", "demonstrate a three-point climb", and "identify defects that fail a daily check". These objectives use three Bloom’s levels and support clear assessments.

Bloom’s taxonomy is a useful calibration tool. A set at the "remember" level makes the training a vocabulary lesson. A set at the "create" level can make the assessment hard to build. A useful workplace set usually clusters at understand, apply, and analyze.

The attached assessment methods are the bridge to the rest of this toolset: an "identify" objective flows into the multiple choice generator, an "apply" objective into the scenario generator, and the full set into the course outline generator.

Questions

Common questions

What is Bloom’s taxonomy, briefly?

A six-level ladder of cognitive work: remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, create. Higher levels demand more than recall: and need different assessments.

How many objectives should a course have?

Use three to five objectives per course, with about one objective per lesson or module. A larger set can indicate that the content contains two separate subjects.

Can I force a specific Bloom’s level?

Yes. Set the level before generating and every objective is written at it. Leave it on "Any" for a naturally mixed set.

How do objectives connect to video training?

Each objective becomes a section of the video and a check inside it. Mindstamp records the checks per learner, which turns "did the training work" into a reportable question.
