Today’s baseline
Actions per month and value per year from your current completion and action rates.
Marketing and sales video
Put your own completion and action rates in, set the targets you believe, and see what the lift is worth per year.
What it does
Three rates you already know: viewers, completion, action: and what moving them is worth.
Actions per month and value per year from your current completion and action rates.
The same audience at the rates you consider achievable: no vendor uplift claims baked in.
Added actions and added value per year, with the method printed under the results.
How to use it
In depth
Most video value dies between play and finish. A video with 5,000 monthly viewers, 35% completion, and a call to action at the end shows that CTA to 1,750 people: the other 3,250 plays spent production budget and delivered nothing. Whatever a video is for, completion rate is the multiplier on it.
The calculator makes that arithmetic explicit and keeps it honest. Both scenarios: today and target: are built from your inputs, and the method is printed under the results. There is no hidden uplift assumption, because a forwarded summary with someone else’s numbers inside it dies in the first review.
What target is defensible? Interaction changes viewing behavior: a viewer who answers a question or picks a branch has invested, and invested viewers finish at higher rates: but the honest way to set the target is your own evidence: run one interactive video, read its completion rate, and put that number in.
The action rate deserves the same scrutiny. A CTA at the end of a video competes with the close-tab reflex; a CTA inside the video, at the moment the case is made, competes with nothing. That placement difference is what Mindstamp sells: and this calculator prices what it would be worth on your audience.
Questions
Whatever the video exists to produce: a demo booked, a trial started, a form completed, a support ticket avoided. Use the value your team already assigns to that outcome.
The rate you can defend. The strongest basis is a pilot: make one video interactive, measure its completion, and use that. The calculator deliberately ships no uplift claim of its own.
The training calculator prices learner time and at-risk training spend. This one prices audience outcomes: actions and their value: for marketing, sales, and support video.
Yes. The summary includes your inputs and the formulas, so anyone reviewing it can check the arithmetic.
