# Connect interactive video to Zapier

Automation guide · Updated: 2026-10-12 · Three polling triggers, checked on Zapier’s schedule. Facts checked October 12, 2026.

Open Integrations > Zapier in Mindstamp to build a Zap, and start it from one of three Mindstamp triggers: New View, New Interaction, or New Lead. On Core and higher, and during a trial, Zapier checks Mindstamp for new records on its own schedule and passes their fields to the apps you pick.

## Three triggers, checked on Zapier’s schedule

| Trigger | When Zapier sees it | What it holds | Plan |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| New View | After the view ends, at Zapier’s next check. | Watch progress, scores, viewer details, location, variables, and the answers in the view. | Core and higher |
| New Interaction | At Zapier’s next check after the answer or click is saved, without waiting for the view to end. | The interaction type, the answer or click, whether it was correct, the time in the video, and viewer details. | Core and higher |
| New Lead | After a known viewer’s view ends, at Zapier’s next check. | Name, email, phone, custom ID, viewer totals, and variables. | Core and higher |

## Build the Zap inside Mindstamp, then test it in Zapier

### Zaps see every video in the organization

The **Zapier** page on a video opens the same account screen as **Integrations** > **Zapier**. The triggers read the newest records from all videos in your organization, including teammates’ videos, so use the video title or ID in each record when a Zap is for one video.

### Open Zapier in Mindstamp

1. In Mindstamp, open **Integrations**.
2. On the **Zapier** card, select **Connect**.
3. Sign in to Zapier, or sign up. Mindstamp fills in your email and name.
4. Choose Mindstamp as the trigger app, and connect your Mindstamp account when Zapier asks.

### Pick a trigger, map fields, and test

1. Pick **New View**, **New Interaction**, or **New Lead** as the trigger.
2. Play a published video to its end, so Zapier has a record to test with.
3. Test the trigger in Zapier and check that your test record appears.
4. Add the app that should receive the data.
5. Map the Mindstamp fields, with the email or custom ID as the match key.
6. Turn the Zap on, then check one more real view in that app.

## When webhooks or a direct connection fit better than Zapier

### Webhooks and direct connections

- Webhooks post each view to your URL after it ends, on Core and higher. Interaction and lead webhooks start on Pro.
- HubSpot writes contacts and timeline events without Zapier, on Pro and higher.
- Google Sheets adds a row for each view, interaction, or viewer of one video, on every plan.

### What Zapier gives you

- Three triggers for views, interactions, and leads, with no endpoint to host.
- Two-step Zaps on Zapier Free, and multi-step Zaps on paid Zapier plans.

## Check these before you rely on the data

### Polling delay

Zapier checks for new records every 15 minutes on its Free plan and every 2 minutes on Professional, and New View and New Lead also wait for the view to end. For a POST after each view, use webhooks.

### Busy accounts can miss interactions

Each check reads only the 50 newest completed views or known viewers and the 20 newest interactions in the organization, so a busy account can miss interactions between checks. To get every record, use interaction webhooks on Pro and higher.

### Leads need a known viewer

New Lead fires only for viewers who gave a name, email, phone, or custom ID. Ask for an email with lead capture, or use New View for anonymous viewers.

### Check each run in Zapier

The Zapier card does not show Connected, and Mindstamp keeps no log of what Zapier read. Test the trigger and check each run in Zapier.

## Zapier interactive video FAQ

### How do I connect Mindstamp to Zapier?

Open **Integrations** in Mindstamp and select **Connect** on the **Zapier** card. Zapier’s own builder opens inside Mindstamp. Sign in, choose Mindstamp as the trigger app, and connect your Mindstamp account. See [how to connect Mindstamp to Zapier](https://mindstamp.com/help/how-to-connect-and-send-data-to-zapier).

### Which Mindstamp plan includes Zapier?

Core and higher, and Zapier also works during a Mindstamp trial. The REST API needs Pro, but the Zapier triggers do not. See [pricing](https://mindstamp.com/pricing).

### Which Mindstamp triggers are on Zapier?

Three: **New View**, **New Interaction**, and **New Lead**. The Mindstamp app on Zapier has no actions or searches. Views and interactions arrive for anonymous viewers too. New Lead needs a viewer who gave a name, email, phone, or custom ID, most often through [lead capture](https://mindstamp.com/features/capture-leads).

### How fast does data reach Zapier?

Within one Zapier polling interval after the record is ready. Zapier checks every 15 minutes on its Free plan and every 2 minutes on Professional. A view or lead is ready after the view ends, which is when the video ends, the viewer reaches 100 percent, or 2 minutes pass with no activity. An interaction is ready once it is saved, without waiting for the view to end.

### Which Zapier plan do I need?

Zapier Free works for a two-step Zap, such as New Lead to one app, with 100 tasks a month. Multi-step Zaps and premium apps such as Salesforce need a paid Zapier plan. The Mindstamp app itself is not a premium app. To send views to Salesforce, see [Salesforce and Mindstamp](https://mindstamp.com/integrations/salesforce).

### Should I use Zapier or webhooks?

Use Zapier when you want no code and some delay is fine. Use [webhooks](https://mindstamp.com/integrations/webhooks) when your own server should get each record in one signed POST after the view ends. View webhooks start on Core, and interaction and lead webhooks start on Pro. To add rows to a sheet without a Zap, use the [Google Sheets connection](https://mindstamp.com/integrations/google-sheets).
