# Fire Meta Pixel events from interactive video

Analytics guide · Updated: 2026-10-12 · Custom pixel events from the viewer’s browser, sent during playback. Facts checked October 12, 2026.

Paste your Meta Pixel ID into the Facebook integration in Mindstamp for your account, a group, or one video. On Core and higher, the player then fires a PageView, two custom events for each click or answer, and progress events at 50 percent, 95 percent, and the video’s end, all from the viewer’s browser.

## A PageView, then custom events for answers and progress

| Event | When the player fires it | What it carries | Plan |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| PageView | Once, when playback starts. | The pixel loads with your ID and records a page view. | Core and higher |
| MindstampInteraction | On each click, question answer, or comment. | interaction_type, interaction_value, correct, video_title, viewer_id, and more. | Core and higher |
| MindstampButtonClick, MindstampQuestionReply, and similar | Next to each MindstampInteraction, named after the element and the action. | The same parameters, under a name you can pick out in Events Manager. | Core and higher |
| MindstampProgress50, 95, and 100 | At 50 and 95 percent, and when the video plays to its end. | progress_percent, current_time, duration, video_title, and viewer_id. | Core and higher |

## Paste the pixel ID, then check Test Events

### The account pixel ID belongs to one user

Mindstamp keeps the **Facebook Pixel ID** from the account **Integrations** page on your user only. Videos that a teammate owns use the teammate’s pixel ID, unless you set one on the group or the video.

### Add your pixel ID

1. In Meta Events Manager, copy the ID of the pixel you use for your ads.
2. In Mindstamp, open **Integrations**.
3. On the **Facebook** card, select **Connect**.
4. Paste the ID into **Facebook Pixel ID**, then select **Save**.

### Set a group or video pixel, then test

1. To use a different pixel for one video, open the video and select **Integrations**.
2. On the **Facebook** card, select **Connect**.
3. Enter the video’s pixel ID, then select **Save**.
4. For a group, use the **Integrations** tab on the group page instead. A video ID wins over a group ID.
5. In Meta Events Manager, open the **Test Events** tool for your pixel.
6. With your ad blocker off, open the published video’s link and answer a question. The editor preview sends nothing.
7. Check that PageView and MindstampInteraction appear in **Test Events**.

## Where Mindstamp pixel events fit next to Meta’s standard events

### Standard and custom events

- Standard events, such as Lead and Purchase, for common conversion actions that your own code fires.
- Meta recommends the Conversions API, which sends events from a server, alongside the pixel.

### Custom events from the player

- Two custom events for each click, answer, or comment, with the answer and whether it was correct.
- Progress events at 50 and 95 percent and at the video’s end, with the video title and a Mindstamp viewer ID.
- A pixel ID per account, group, or video, with no code on your page.

## Check these before you rely on the data

### No Lead or Purchase events

Apart from PageView, the player fires custom events only. Build audiences from the Mindstamp custom events, or fire a standard event from your page with player events.

### Browser only

Events fire from the viewer’s browser, so an ad blocker can stop them. Mindstamp sends no Conversions API events, so compare pixel counts with Mindstamp reports.

### No name or email fields

Events identify the viewer by a Mindstamp viewer ID, not by name or email. A text answer goes to Meta in interaction_value, so do not ask for personal details in a question on a video with a pixel. To act on a known lead, send it to your CRM through HubSpot, webhooks, or Zapier.

### No send log in Mindstamp

Mindstamp has no test button for the pixel. Check each event in the Test Events tool in Events Manager before you build an audience on it.

## Meta Pixel interactive video FAQ

### How do I connect the Meta Pixel to Mindstamp?

Paste your pixel ID. In Mindstamp, open **Integrations**, select **Connect** on the **Facebook** card, enter the ID in **Facebook Pixel ID**, and select **Save**. The app uses the Facebook name for the Meta Pixel. A video’s own ID wins, then its group’s, then the video owner’s account ID. See [the Meta Pixel setup guide](https://mindstamp.com/help/meta-pixel-integration).

### Which Mindstamp plan includes the Meta Pixel?

Core and higher. Player events on your page, the route for firing your own pixel events, also start on Core. See [pricing](https://mindstamp.com/pricing).

### Does a viewer need to give an email for pixel events?

No. Anonymous views fire the same events. The events carry a Mindstamp viewer ID and no name or email fields. To pass a known lead to your CRM, use [HubSpot](https://mindstamp.com/integrations/hubspot) or [webhooks](https://mindstamp.com/integrations/webhooks).

### When do the events reach Meta?

During playback. The viewer’s browser fires the pixel when playback starts, at each click or answer, and at 50 and 95 percent and the real end of the video. An ad blocker in that browser can stop the events, so check them in the **Test Events** tool in Events Manager.

### Can I use Mindstamp events for ad audiences and conversions?

Yes for audiences. Meta custom audiences can use pixel custom events, such as MindstampProgress95 or MindstampQuestionReply. For custom conversions, confirm in your Meta account that a rule can use the event before you plan on it. An ad account allows 100 custom conversions.

### How is this different from the Conversions API?

Mindstamp fires the browser pixel only. Meta recommends the Conversions API alongside the pixel, and Mindstamp does not send it. For a server-side record of each view and answer, use [webhooks](https://mindstamp.com/integrations/webhooks) and your own code.
