Facts checked October 5, 2026. Paste the address of a public kaltura.com media page, and Mindstamp finds the video file in that page and streams it from Kaltura into its own player. Its server reads the page and keeps the first MP4 or .m3u8 address it finds. 1. In Kaltura, open the media page of the video. Its address must contain kaltura.com. 2. Open the same address in a private window to check that the video plays without a sign-in. 3. In Mindstamp, select **New video**, then **Kaltura** under **Platforms**. 4. Paste the address, wait for **Link works**, and select **Create Video**. Paste a kaltura.com address for the entry, or upload the file. ### That link can’t be used The page HTML had no direct MP4 or .m3u8 address. Pages behind a sign-in or access control likely show none. Upload the file. ### Playback stops later Kaltura sessions and tokenized CDN URLs expire. If the file address carried a token, it likely stops working. Replace the source with an upload. ### Transcript fails Mindstamp saves every Kaltura source as MP4, even when the address it found is an .m3u8 playlist. A transcript or Download source likely fails for a playlist. Upload the file when you need one. ## Kaltura interactive video FAQ ### How do I make Kaltura videos interactive? Copy the address of a public Kaltura media page that contains kaltura.com. In Mindstamp, select **Kaltura** on the **New video** page, paste the address, and create the video when you see **Link works**. Then add questions and hotspots in the editor. Mindstamp streams the file from Kaltura and records each answer. ### Which Kaltura and Mindstamp plans do I need? No Mindstamp plan blocks Kaltura links, and Mindstamp needs no Kaltura API access or partner ID. Mindstamp Basic allows videos up to 30 minutes, which can rule out a long lecture recording. A Mindstamp SCORM package needs a Core plan or higher. Kaltura shows no public prices, and an admin turns on its own video quiz in the Quiz module. ### Does Kaltura still count the plays? Likely not. Kaltura analytics come from play events that a player sends to Kaltura, and Mindstamp does not load the Kaltura player or send anything back. Kaltura still delivers the file from its CDN. Read views and scores for the interactive video in Mindstamp. ### Is Kaltura Video Quiz enough on its own? If your viewers sign in to Kaltura through your LMS, it may be. Kaltura Video Quiz scores each viewer and can send grades to the LMS gradebook over LTI. Mindstamp fits when one video needs a quiz and hotspots together, or when viewers do not sign in.
