# Interactive video in Articulate 360

Authoring tool guide · Updated: 2026-10-05 · As documented by Articulate 360. Documents checked October 5, 2026.

Add the Mindstamp player to a Storyline slide with a Web Object, or to a Rise lesson with an Embed block, and Mindstamp records each learner’s answers. The published course gets nothing from the video, so to put the score in your LMS or Reach 360, upload the Mindstamp SCORM package there as its own item.

## Choose by where the score must land

| Method | Where in Articulate 360 | What Articulate 360 records | What Mindstamp records |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Web Object or Embed block | Storyline: Insert, then Web Object, with the player address. Rise: an Embed block with the Basic iframe code. | Only its own tracking, such as slides viewed in Storyline or a completion percentage in Rise. Nothing from the video. | Every view, answer, click, and branch. Add lead capture to see names. |
| Share link | A link or button in the course, or a Storyline Web Object set to open a new browser window. | Nothing about the video. | The same data as the embed. |
| Mindstamp SCORM package | Imported into Reach 360, or uploaded to your LMS, as a course of its own. | The Storyline or Rise course gets nothing. Reach 360 or your LMS gets completion and a score from the package. | Each view, with the learner name and ID from the LMS. |

## Add the video to Storyline or Rise

### Paste the address or the iframe

1. In Mindstamp, publish the video from its **Share** page.
2. Under **Embed**, choose **Basic iframe** and copy the code.
3. In Storyline 360, select **Insert**, then **Web Object**.
4. In **Address**, paste only the address inside src. It starts with https.
5. Select **Test Link** to check the address.
6. Under **Display in**, choose **Slide** or **New browser window**.
7. In Rise 360, add an **Embed** block from the **Multimedia** category.
8. Paste the whole Basic iframe code into the Embed block.
9. Play the published course in Review 360 or your LMS. Storyline does not show web objects in preview.

### Import the package into Reach 360 or your LMS

A Mindstamp video inside a Storyline or Rise course reports nothing to that course. For a score, upload the package as its own course.

1. On the Mindstamp **Share** page, under **Export**, select **Download SCORM package**. This needs a Core plan or higher.
2. In **SCORM Version**, choose **SCORM 1.2** for Reach 360. Reach 360 does not show a passing grade for SCORM 2004 imports. For another LMS, choose a version it lists.
3. In **Completion Checkpoint**, choose 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent. The 80 and 85 percent options do not record completion.
4. In Reach 360, select **Manage**, **Courses**, **Add Courses**, then **Import course**.
5. Upload the complete ZIP file. Reach 360 takes one course per import, up to 5 GB. In another LMS, upload it as a separate course.
6. Allow pop-ups for Reach 360, which opens imported courses in a new window.
7. Launch the course as a test learner. Edits in Mindstamp show at once, without a new import.

## Storyline builds video interaction from cue points and triggers

### Storyline, Rise, and Interactive Video

- Storyline cue points that fire triggers, with layers and hotspots over the video.
- Those triggers need a video from file. A Video from Website plays outside the slide timeline.
- Rise video blocks with AI captions and an option to stop forward seeking, but no questions inside the block.
- Interactive Video in Articulate 360 AI, documented in September 2026: AI chapters and a transcript, plus checkpoints that pause the video to show any block, such as a knowledge check. Required interactions can stop the video until the learner answers.

### What a Mindstamp video adds

- Questions and branching on one hosted video, with no layers or triggers to build.
- Edits that show in every course at once, with no new publish.
- One hosted video for every Rise lesson, without a Storyline block or a separate Interactive Video project.
- A SCORM package that sends completion and a score to Reach 360 or your LMS.

## Check these before you publish

### Blank in Storyline preview

Articulate says web objects cannot be previewed, and published output opened from your own computer fails too. Test the published course in Review 360 or your LMS.

### Rise rejects the code

Rise shows “Please enter a valid URL or iframe” when the code has text outside the iframe tags or curly quotes. Copy the Basic iframe code again and paste it unchanged.

### The course completes without the video

Storyline and Rise complete a course on their own rules, such as slides viewed or a completion percentage. Upload the Mindstamp SCORM package too, and make the Mindstamp item required in the same LMS learning path.

### Video not available: Code 617

The course domain is not in Allowed embed domains, a Mindstamp account setting. Add it. For Reach 360, add learn.riseusercontent.com, where imported courses open.

## Articulate 360 interactive video FAQ

### How do I add a Mindstamp video to Articulate Storyline?

Use a Web Object. On the **Insert** tab, select **Web Object** and paste the address from the Mindstamp **Basic iframe** code. The Web Object takes a web address or a local folder, not embed code. **Video from Website** takes embed code, but Articulate says those videos play outside the slide timeline, so cue points and timeline triggers do not control them.

### Does Rise 360 accept the Mindstamp embed code?

Use the Basic iframe code. Rise checks each embed through Embedly and accepts a URL or a single iframe, but a plain address works only if Embedly supports it, so test it first. Rise rejects code that has text outside the iframe tags, so expect the Responsive and Popout codes, which add a script, to fail. Embedded content must also use https, as Mindstamp addresses do.

### Does the Storyline or Rise course record the Mindstamp score?

No. Storyline and Rise track their own content, such as slides viewed in Storyline or a completion percentage in Rise. Embed blocks are not a Rise tracking option, and an embedded player sends nothing to either tool. Upload the Mindstamp SCORM package as its own item instead. It sends completion and a score, the percent of questions answered correctly. See [SCORM export](https://mindstamp.com/help/scorm-export).

### Storyline already does interactive video. When does Mindstamp fit?

Mindstamp fits when one video serves many courses and you want to edit it in one place. Storyline triggers and Rise Interactive Video are real strengths, and Articulate’s own examples use cue points to pause a video and show a question on a layer. Those Storyline questions ship inside each published course, while Mindstamp keeps them on one hosted video, so an edit shows everywhere without a new publish. Rise can show Storyline questions through a Storyline block. Compare the two in [Mindstamp vs Articulate 360](https://mindstamp.com/vs/articulate-360).

### Does Articulate have its own interactive video now?

Yes. Articulate 360 AI has an Interactive Video type, with help pages dated September 2026. Its AI adds chapters and a transcript, and checkpoints pause the video for a knowledge check. The source video can run up to 45 minutes or 500 MB. The Articulate pages read on October 5, 2026 do not document an LMS export for it.
