# How do I embed a Mindstamp video in Skilljar?

## Short answer

Copy the address from the Mindstamp **Basic iframe** code. In Skilljar, add a **Files or Web Content** lesson, open **Content**, select the **Embed Link** tab, choose the iframe option in **Type**, and paste the address. Skilljar marks this lesson complete when it loads, so use a SCORM lesson when completion must follow the video.

## Steps

1. In Mindstamp, publish the video from its **Share** page if it is not published yet.
2. Under **Embed**, choose **Basic iframe** and select **Copy embed code**. Copy only the address inside src. It starts with https.
3. In the Skilljar course, add a **Files or Web Content** lesson.
4. Open **Content** and select the **Embed Link** tab.
5. In **Type**, choose **Any website that allows itself to be embedded as an iframe**. It is the last option.
6. Paste the address and save the lesson.
7. Open the lesson as a test learner. Play the video and try fullscreen.

## Paste the iframe in a Text lesson

- Add a **Text** lesson and open **Source Code** (the <> button).
- Paste the whole **Basic iframe** code. Keep allow="autoplay; fullscreen" and allowfullscreen in the tag.
- Add text above or below the iframe if the lesson needs directions, then save.

## Control automatic completion

Skilljar completes an embedded lesson on its first page load, even if the learner never plays the video. To stop that, turn on **Disable Automatic Completion** for the lesson. Skilljar then needs another way to mark the lesson complete, such as its API, so plan for that before you change it.

## Upload a SCORM / Web Package lesson

- SCORM lessons are not on the Skilljar Starter package.
- On the Mindstamp **Share** page, under **Export**, select **Download SCORM package**. This needs a Core plan or higher. Choose any version and a **Completion Checkpoint** of 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent. Skilljar lists SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 3rd and 4th editions.
- In the course, add a **SCORM / Web Package** lesson and upload the ZIP file.
- Skilljar completes the lesson when the package reports complete, passed, or failed, and shows the score in **SCORM Analytics**. You can also allow multiple attempts.

## If the player does not load

Skilljar’s troubleshooting names browser extensions and cross-domain (CORS) errors as causes of media problems. Open the lesson in a browser window with no extensions. Then check Allowed embed domains in Mindstamp, as below.

## If your account restricts embed domains

If you set **Allowed embed domains** in Mindstamp, add your Skilljar domain to the list. Otherwise learners see “Video not available: Code 617”. See [restrict embed domains](https://mindstamp.com/help/restrict-embed-domains).

## Know which learner watched

The embed does not receive the learner’s Skilljar account. To see names in Mindstamp reports, add lead capture to the video so learners enter their name and email.
