# How do I add a Mindstamp video to Schoology?

Topic: [Training, LMS and certificates](https://mindstamp.com/help/training) · Updated: 2026-10-05

## Short answer

Copy the address from the Mindstamp **Basic iframe** code. In the Schoology course, select **Add Materials**, then **Add File/Link/External Tool**, then **Link**, and paste it. Schoology shows a Link in an iframe inside the course unless you turn on **Display in new window**.

## Steps

1. In Mindstamp, publish the video from its **Share** page if it is not published yet.
2. Under **Embed**, choose **Basic iframe** and select **Copy embed code**. Copy only the address inside src. It starts with https.
3. In Schoology, open the course and select **Add Materials**.
4. Select **Add File/Link/External Tool**, then **Link**.
5. Paste the address and enter a title. Leave **Display in new window** off.
6. Save, then open the link with a test student account. Play the video and use each interaction.

## Use a Page to put text around the video

- Add a **Page** material and switch the editor from **Visual** to **HTML**.
- Paste the whole **Basic iframe** code where the video should show, and save.
- Schoology does not support script embed codes, so the Mindstamp **Responsive** and **Popout** codes do not work here.

## If the Link says refused to connect

Schoology frames a Link by default, and some pages do not allow framing. Check that you pasted the address from the embed code, not the Mindstamp share page address. If the Link still fails, edit it and turn on **Display in new window**.

## Upload a SCORM package for a grade

- Schoology lists SCORM 1.1, 1.2, and 2004 version 4. It does not list the 3rd edition.
- On the Mindstamp **Share** page, under **Export**, select **Download SCORM package**. This needs a Core plan or higher. Choose **SCORM 1.2** or **SCORM 2004 (4th edition)** and a **Completion Checkpoint** of 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent.
- In the course, select **Add Materials**, then **Add Package**, then **SCORM**, and upload the ZIP file. Schoology accepts packages up to 10 GB.
- Turn on grading during the upload. Choose **SCORM grading** for one gradebook column, or **SCO grading** for one column per SCO.

## If your account restricts embed domains

If you set **Allowed embed domains** in Mindstamp, add your Schoology domain to the list. Otherwise students see “Video not available: Code 617”. See [restrict embed domains](https://mindstamp.com/help/restrict-embed-domains).

## Know which student watched

The embed does not receive the student’s Schoology account. To see names in Mindstamp reports, add lead capture to the video so students enter their name and email. A SCORM package passes the name and ID from the LMS instead. See [viewer identity and anonymous viewers](https://mindstamp.com/help/viewer-identity-and-anonymous-viewers).
