# How does the ClickFunnels integration work?

## Short answer

Connect ClickFunnels once in **Integrations** with your **API Key**, **Workspace URL** and **Workspace ID**, then turn on contact sync for each video. On Pro and higher plans, a question can also save its answer in a custom attribute, and a button or other click can apply a tag. Mindstamp sends the data when each view ends, and only for viewers who give an email.

## Steps

1. In ClickFunnels, open **Team Settings** > **Developer Portal**, add a platform application and copy its API key. ClickFunnels lists API access on the Scale, Optimize and Dominate plans.
2. Copy your workspace address, which ends in myclickfunnels.com, and your Workspace ID, the number at the end of the home dashboard URL.
3. In Mindstamp, open **Integrations**, select **Connect** on the **ClickFunnels** card, enter the **API Key**, **Workspace URL** and **Workspace ID**, and select **Connect ClickFunnels**.
4. Open the video, select **Integrations**, select **Manage** on the **ClickFunnels** card, turn on **Sync viewers with email addresses to ClickFunnels** and select **Save Video Settings**.
5. To save how much of the video each contact watched, also turn on **Track watch percentage as custom attribute** and select **Save Video Settings** again.
6. To save an answer, open the question, turn on **ClickFunnels** in its **Integrations** section and enter a **Custom Attribute Name**. To tag a contact from a click, open the button or other interaction, turn on **ClickFunnels** and enter a **Tag to Apply**, or a **Custom Attribute Name** and **Custom Attribute Value**.
7. Make sure the video collects an email.
8. Play the video to the end in a private window, or close it and wait at least two minutes, then check the contact in ClickFunnels.

## What is sent

- **Contact**: email, first name and last name. Mindstamp splits the viewer name at the first space and creates or updates the contact.
- **Watch percentage**: a custom attribute named after the video, for example `Product Demo Percentage`, set to the rounded percent watched. Each finished view overwrites it.
- **Question answer**: the viewer’s answer, saved in the custom attribute you name in **Custom Attribute Name**.
- **Button, hotspot or other interaction**: the **Tag to Apply**, and the **Custom Attribute Value** in the attribute you name. Mindstamp creates a tag that does not exist yet.

## When it is sent

Mindstamp sends to ClickFunnels after the session is finished: the video ends, the viewer reaches 100 percent, or two minutes pass with no activity. Mindstamp skips a viewer without an email, so anonymous views send nothing. An email captured partway through still counts for the whole view.

## Plans on both sides

In Mindstamp, the connection, contact sync and watch percentage are on every plan. Tags and custom attributes on interactions are on Pro and higher plans. In ClickFunnels, API access is on the Scale, Optimize and Dominate plans.

## Start a ClickFunnels workflow from a click

ClickFunnels workflows can start from the **Applied Tag** trigger. Apply a tag on the button, hotspot or other interaction that should start the follow-up, then build the workflow on that tag in ClickFunnels. Test it with one contact.

## Common problems

- Nothing arrives: check that the per-video switch is on and that the view shows an email. Mindstamp does not show ClickFunnels errors or retry a failed send.
- The credentials form shows again: Mindstamp tests the key each time you open the page. Create a new API key in ClickFunnels and connect again.
- Connect fails: the **Workspace URL** must contain myclickfunnels.com.
